THE CHALLENGE
Ferris State University wanted the first purpose-built eSports Arena in Michigan to be at their university, making them the prime destination for the implementation of the eSports program and degree given the rapid growth of the industry.
THE PROCESS
Create the first of the state’s dedicated eSports arena, bursting with seamlessly integrated technology.
OUR DELIVERY
Through audiovisual, IT/telecom, and security design, an eSports arena for Cyber Competitions, which can be transformed into a classroom was installed.
PROJECT STATS
AR/VR Lab
• Students can engage in augmented and virtual reality experiences for motion capture.
Podcast Studios
• Digital Media students can get a hands-on experience with producing, editing, and recording podcasts.
Broadcast Studio
• The School of Digital Media students can leverage this broadcast space for hands-on learning.
Distance Learning Classrooms
• Using a metaversity-style classroom, virtual students can have the same experience as the students present in the classroom. The space is also useful for the School of Education students to learn how to leverage classroom technology.
eSports Arena
• Michigan’s first purpose-build eSports arena, complete with eSports production rooms.
Faraday Room
• On a separate network and isolated in a faraday room, students can learn ethical hacking practices.
