UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH

HILLMAN LIBRARY

THE CHALLENGE

Hillman Library’s essential role on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus made it a key facility for modernization. The University conducted research to identify changes and future needs in academic research, learning, and teaching in order to generate opportunities for how spaces and services in Pitt’s academic library can respond to these future needs.

THE PROCESS

Create a functional, user-first library space that aligns with the University of Pittsburgh’s mission to provide the highest-quality education experience to students.

OUR DELIVERY

The renovations to the first and ground floors of the Hillman Library incorporate various interactive and non-interactive displays. The main narrative content is featured on the Interactive Touch Wall, while additional project details including descriptions and author bios are available on non-interactive screens. Non-interactive screens inform visitors about the current and upcoming displays, enhancing their overall experience within the library space.
