WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY MEDIA INNOVATION CENTER

Media Innovation Center

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Working closely with the University and design team, Synergy installed flexible and adaptive technology systems that facilitate and encourage content creation and experimentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and singular and collective idea incubation.

Diverse technology spaces like the experimental maker and hacker co-labs, the open incubator/forum spaces, and the cutting-edge strategic communications hub immerse students in seamless, technology-rich environments that feel accessible and look larger-than-life.

Our integration of professional audiovisual hardware with user based technology solutions (e.g.: Skype, Google Hangouts, and Google Docs) creates an environment that allows students to use ubiquitous cloud-based technologies in a professional ecosystem, and encourages the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) movement by developing systems that allow anyone to connect and share their device for collaboration on a single display or throughout the building.

From high-impact technologies like floor-to-ceiling video walls to less conspicuous environments with the infrastructure to support user sharing and high-level content creation, the Media Innovation Center is the culmination of Synergy’s craft, precision, and ability to collaborate with the project team.
